Flip Dot Wave - Kinetic Kit

This month I wanted to revisit my adventures with short flip-card animations. A few years ago I made this animation that became unintentionally popular on social media:

It had 24 frames of hand-drawn animation and it later became a longer project that gathered a lot less attention than this image with the drill. 

This month's project has only 12 frames and it is much smaller. I also decided to animate a simple sinusoidal movement to do a sort of call back to last month's project

Also by cutting animation on the cards you get to see a sort of mirrored image at the bottom:

Of course other animations and even more frames are possible but that will be an exploration for another time. You can grab the files or poke at the project here (this is a the new perk of supporting me via Patreon). 

I guess this is technically a "mutoscope", but I sure hope it is the cutest mutoscope you have ever seen 😊
