84/100 - Transition

These two experiences are very different for me but have something in common: going to sleep and waking up. They are both transitional and I struggle with them. Mostly with going sleep to be honest. I've tried quite a long list of solutions throughout the years and I still think my partner has a superpower because she can fall asleep almost on command, I feel so much envy. What I do most of the time is reading before sleeping, preferably fiction and preferably not on a bright screen.
Waking up and getting up became easier once I accepted that for the first 30 or 40 minutes I would be a ghostly version of myself, a defocused zombie with limited verbal abilities. Coming into focus is a process that I don't need to rush most of the time so I usually draw in the morning while it happens.
The character in today's drawing is walking out of capybara-dream-land, hunched by the weight of changing states. Hopefully he'll be running a few frames down the line. This one is 3.5" by 4.25". Available here(sold).
