There is something wonderful about the way plant life has shaped other life around itself. Oxygenating the planet 2300 million years ago, shaping the limbs of pollinators, and perhaps even domesticating humans for its own benefit as in the case of corn (Michael Pollan likes to ask who domesticated who in this story). Sometimes plant life seems completely alien yet we have grown together on the same planet. Perhaps we are true friends, of the kind that sometimes eat each other.
