62/100 - Idle hands

Faces are very prominent in our way of remembering people but I would love to visit a museum of cast human hands. Seeing and touching reproductions of the hands of makers and artists past and present would be a great way to connect with the past. Their imperfections and aging like the marks on well worn tools.

The museum could start with reproduction of ancient stencilled hand paintings and it could end with an invitation for the visitors to have their hands 3D scanned for posterity. This would be a hands-on museum where you are invited to touch most objects. A place to display not the work but the tools that made it, like flowers relieved by cut from their reproduction duties to be admired for their looks alone.

This vase of hands is 2.5" by 3.5". Available here(sold).
