51/100 - Portals into color

Someone I trust suggested adding color to these pieces would make them better. So given that we are now in the second half of the experiment I decided to go slowly out of my black and white comfort zone, and what we have above is my shy tip-toeing into those cold waters.
I can't say I’m happy with it but that is actually a good sign, I don't think first tries are generally good or are supposed to feel good. Although this is not my first foray into making things with color it is the first of this series. We'll see how it goes, I'm feeling optimistic about failing a little bit. Part of my reluctance is that I enjoy the pattern tricks one is forced to develop in black and white to create depth, and texture and to add contrast. But with a limited palette there is no good reason to suddenly abandon those.
These two shy birds sticking out of blue interdimensional portals are 2.5" by 2.5". Available here(sold).
