45/100 - Space soapbox car

After yesterday's romantic view on imaginary vehicles I swung the other way today into lowbrow. The ship felt dreamy and this one feels fast and fun. It reminds me of the Colombian equivalent of the soapbox car the "carrito de balineras" (translation would be little ball bearing cart). It baffles me to this day that the wheels are repurposed ball bearings with no rubber tires, that is metal on asphalt or concrete, they have a very distinct sound and are both a sorth of folk toy and even a utilitarian cart for some people. An image search for "carrito de balineras" will get you a good selection but I swiped this image that shows the classic rough construction (source):

I remember building something similar once but I was lucky enough to be given a skateboard with superior wheels that won my affections. There really is something about us humans and gliding through space on whatever it takes, such joy we get.

This tiny celebration of motion and gravity is 3.75" by 3". Available here(sold).
