The update on the mechanical piece saga is that I slept on it and it looked much better to me with eyes refreshed. It was truly a case of having the maker goggles on, I could only see the kinks and flaws, but after a while I was able to see it as a whole. I like the whole better than the individual flaws, although I still think there is much to improve.
It's funny how easy it is to let go of the flaws when I'm more concerned with the flow and less with this one thing where I've placed all the bets and the effort. Today's drawing for example is part of the flow and I'm ok with the fact that I didn't draw the second rear leg. I noticed only after inking the platform and it was too late so I just moved on, hey, maybe it's a 3 legged furry guy.
This other thing though, I'm still a little uncomfortable with the drawn elements, but the overall effect of visual complexity is what I wanted out of it. You can be the judge:
Today's cheeky furry possibly 3 legged guy -which belongs to the same universe as cheeky owl above- is 2" by 3". Available here(sold).
