39/100 - A deep Cave

One silver lining is that I have become a full time artist during the past couple of weeks. And I'm rather surprised at myself for being able to do all these things at the same time. Besides these daily drawings I've been working on a kinetic piece for a show. Which means I've been switching modes of thinking; from mechanical problem solving, to drawing, to writing. I'm surprised because I don't do this kind of fast switching very often, in the past I've spent chunks of time in one mode or another with transition periods in between.

I enjoy focusing deeply in one thing at the time and I've felt bewildered by fast transitions before. One notable piece of this puzzle was realizing that I mostly live on a maker's schedule, that is, I feel most comfortable thinking in units of time of half a day at least, rather than the calendar ruled chunks of one hour at the time (I got this notion from this article called Maker's Schedule, Manager's Schedule which is a recommended short read). So I'm surprised I'm managing to get things done, but I'm also aware that these are unusual circumstances and it's still unclear what can be extrapolated into the future.

One good thing is that I've proved to myself I can do this kind of thing, but who knows if I'll be able to keep it up. It's like staring into a dark cave where dangerous things might be, but also excitement, possibility.

Anyway, here is a preview of that mechanical piece I mentioned, it's going to be bird themed and is not finished but the motion is where I want it to be. Now I'm going to add some details and paint so consider this a work in progress shot:

Today's drawing is 2.5" by 3.5". Available here(sold).
