36/100 - A window into their world

When I look at other people's work I feel like an outsider looking into a window. Even if I physically own the work and it's hanging on my wall I still feel like an outsider. One one side, I like that feeling, I will never enter their house completely, mystery remains. On the other side, it's a shame, there is so much more I would like to understand, why did they choose that color, what does it all mean?

An invitation to enter is generally helpful, some wave from inside, a way into their labyrinth. It doesn't have have to be a personal invitation, after all, that's mostly impossible since there are so many artists that have died, but windows into their world remain at large.

But we also need to live at peace without an invitation to every house, like vampires looking longingly at night into lit windows, that's all we get, an image without explanation. And the only invitation is the one we give ourselves to imagine what's inside. Let's call that enough.

This window and it's tiny building are 2.75" by 2.5". Available here(sold).
