32/100 - Crafty gnome

I set out to draw a gnome with a long pointy hat but this guy ended up looking more like a space dwarf wearing welding goggles and sprouting a flowery deer head.
These series of gnome drawings have been inspired by a Hundertwasser text where he writes fondly about the garden gnome as a kitschy reminder of a magical distant past and a yearning for a better future. An allowance we make in gardens everywhere to remember the wonder of fairy tales and our ability to dream.
I also find the lore of gnomes and dwarfs appealing. Dwarfs are considered crafty and skilled at metalworking, and along with gnomes they are usually underground dwellers. My crafty gnome/dwarf has a lot of things coming out of his head: maybe a way of saying imagination and craftiness go hand in hand.
This stocky guy lives on a rather tall piece of wood at 3" by 5". Available here(sold).
I'll be shipping orders this weekend so if you want to purchase any of these and get it before the next batch, now is the time. Thank you!
