100 day project farewell and updates

Looking back it's hard to believe I managed to crank these out for 100 consecutive days. It really looks like a sort of madness from this vantage point, it was a journey through a section of this strange year that I hope doesn't get any stranger. And I couldn't have done it without your support, thank you so much!

I posted the remaining pieces on my store and they are now available to the general public. That means the Paypal links on the emails you received don't work anymore but if you wanted to buy one you can find it at my shop.

In other news I wanted to share this kinetic piece I finished recently for a show at Giant Robot, I feel it's a clear descendant from the 100 day project saga as our friend the magpie made an appearance. I think it came out well and I'm happy with the way it combines illustration with motion (I also made this short video where you can see the mechanism behind it and some close-ups):

Finally, I've been thinking hard about the next project supported by you, my patrons, and I think I'd like to explore a new territory. I've been thinking about that intersection of mechanical things and the organic quality of paper that I explored with the tiny machines project and there are some ideas I have been meaning to try. I think some of the appeal of this platform is that by receiving ongoing support creators can be a little bit more adventurous. In that spirit I'm going to have less finished products for a bit in exchange for some exploration, and -gasp!- probably some failure, and I'll be documenting the process here. I hope I can take you along for a fun ride. As always your comments and suggestions are a delight, thank you! And I hope you are staying safe.

Federico.
